The Academia Ovarense Juniors got off to a winning start in the Campeonato Distrital Elite Sub/19: they beat FC Cesarense 3-0 in Matchday 1, in a match played at Pitch Nº 1 of the Centro de Formação de Ovar.

It was a demanding match, which the Vareiros only managed to break open in the second half. João Silva opened the scoring on 58 minutes from the penalty spot, Gabriel Silva extended the lead on 82' and João Silva wrapped up the scoreline in added time, on 90+1'.
